COURSE

With a cozy sandy beach, a large lawn and the beautiful, quiet roads in the area, the Ouderkerkerplas is an ideal location for a beautiful triathlon. You swim in the lake and cycle and run around this lake. At the moment, there is a lot of constructionwork being done on the A9 highway, which can affect our bike course. So there are 2 options for bike course and we will only know just before the race whether or not we can cycle under the A9.

OLYMPIC & SPRINT DISTANCE (on the short 5k lap bike course)

SWIM

We swim in the large side of the lake and start from the water (water start). This lake is nice and deep and therefore little to no chance of blue-green algae at very high temperatures. The Sprint swims 1 lap of 750 meters and the OD swims two laps.

BIKE

The sprint bike course consists of four laps of 5 kilometers around the lake, while the OD participants have to cycle 8 laps.

When the tunnel under the A9 is open, we will have a longer bike course of 10KM and the Sprint will cycle 2 laps and the OD 4 laps.

run

You walk on the unpaved path around the lake. The running course can be described as technical, with many twists and turns at the end of the lap, before you cross the lake via the walking jetty. For the Olympic distance you do two of these running laps.
