- The arrangements referred to in Articles 3.2 and 3.3 cannot both be used for the same registration.

This exclusion of liability also applies to serious types of damage such as all possible types of damage resulting from injury or death.

RULES:
The Dutch Triathlon Series (DTS) works with its own team of judges who ensure that the competition runs according to the rules. Participants must adhere to our regulations. DTS judges are authorized to disqualify participants who do not adhere to the rules as described below.
- Participants are not allowed to use music carriers such as earphones and headphones in any event.
- Participants must follow the instructions of traffic controllers and police officers at all times and must be aware of any means of transport present.
- Please comply with the applicable traffic regulations at all times (unless otherwise indicated by traffic controllers and police officers) and understand that the course is accessible to the public and traffic. The sections that are closed to traffic may also be used by emergency services and vehicles associated with the event during the event. Therefore, please adhere to the traffic regulations at all times. Driving is on the right.
- The DTS medical team has the right to withdraw athletes from the competition if they consider it irresponsible to continue.
- We ask all participants to behave well and in a sporting manner, and to treat other participants, event staff and volunteers politely and respectfully.
- Throwing away waste is only allowed in waste zones. The waste zones are located around the aid stations and are clearly indicated. If a participant throws away waste outside this zone, he or she will be disqualified.
- If a competitor chooses to withdraw from the competition, he/she must inform the jury as soon as possible. If this is not complied with and a search and rescue operation is initiated, the associated costs will be charged to the competitor in question if he/she is at home or in a hotel/accommodation at that time.
- The DTS organization reserves the right to change regulations, courses and locations at any time. However, participants must be informed of this before the start of the competition, unless the change directly affects the safety of the athletes.
- Wearing headphones or earplugs is not permitted in the swimming, cycling and running events.
- Participants (m/f) in the DTS are not allowed to enter the cycling and running course with a bare upper body.
- Each participant must familiarize themselves with the course and it is their own responsibility to follow the correct route (except for deviating instructions from traffic controllers, police officers and the organization).
- DTS reserves the right to give the competition Duathlon status when the weather conditions require it, with a view to the safety of the participant. In this case, no (partial) refund of registration fees will take place. If the weather conditions are so bad that the safety of the participants in a duathlon cannot be guaranteed, the DTS organization may choose to cancel the event in its entirety. In the event of cancellation, the registration fee will not be refunded.
- The starting numbers issued must be visible throughout the entire cycling and running section.
- SWIMMING RULESA participant must have a swimming cap provided at registration during the event. This must be worn at all times when the participant is in the water.
- Any adjustments to the swimming event will be communicated during the participants briefing based on the prevailing weather conditions, water temperature and any changes in swimming distance.
- Flippers, paddles, snorkels and flotation devices are prohibited.
- Swimming or diving goggles may be worn.
- If a participant receives assistance during the swimming event (for example from canoeists or lifeguards) this may lead to disqualification.
- The event organization has the right to move or shorten the swimming course or cancel the swimming part if the weather conditions, water temperature or general water condition so require.
- CYCLING RULESStaying/drafting is not allowed in a non-stayer race. The 'stayer- or drafting-zone' is a 12 meter long and 3 meter wide rectangle (one and a half meters on both sides from the front wheel) between the front point of the leading cyclist and the cyclist behind. An overtaking manoeuvre (completely passing the stayer zone) must be completed within 20 seconds. Subsequently, the overtaken athlete must have disappeared from the stayer zone of the first mentioned athlete within 5 seconds.
- In a Stayer race, such as DTS-GP Zandvoort, handlebars, time trial bikes and triathlon bikes with handlebars are not allowed for safety reasons.
- The starting numbers may not be reduced or otherwise modified. The number must be worn on the back with bicycles.
- Wearing a safe bicycle helmet is mandatory.
- The bicycle helmet must be fastened with the chin strap before the bicycle is removed from the rack. The helmet may only be removed again after the bicycle is in the rack after the bicycle section
- Individual support is not permitted. The bike course is closed to support vehicles. A participant may not seek or accept assistance from spectators, supervisors or third parties, with the exception of official technical support from the organization or within the coaching posts.
- A participant is responsible for the condition and any repairs of the bicycle. The bicycle must be well maintained and in a ready-to-ride condition before the start of the event. The participant must be able and prepared to carry out any necessary repairs themselves; accepting help with this can lead to disqualification. This excludes the use of spare wheels or spare bicycles. When checking in the bicycle, a basic technical check is carried out, whereby only bicycles that meet the requirements are allowed into the transition zone. The helmet must be checked in at the same time as the bicycle and may then only leave the transition zone during and after the race.
- Cyclists are expected to follow the instructions and directions of all race officials and authorities. Participants are allowed to walk with their bike if necessary.
- Participants must keep to the right as much as possible on the course. Overtaking must take place on the left.
- The penalty for drafting, dangerous riding and unsportsmanlike conduct will be determined by the jury and may result in disqualification.
- The event organization has the right to move or shorten the cycling course if the weather or course conditions so require.
- RUNNING RULESThe starting numbers may not be reduced in size or otherwise modified. The number must be worn on the front of the body while running.
- Participants should walk as far to the right as possible so that passing on the left remains possible.
- Participants are not allowed to run with a bare torso and must cross the finish line wearing a closed tri-suit.
- Individual coaching on the course (in the form of non-participating runners, cyclists or other vehicles) is not permitted. Accepting food or other attributes outside the coaching post is not permitted and may result in disqualification.
- The event organization has the right to move or shorten the running course if the weather or course conditions allow this.
