SPRINT & OLYMPIC DISTANCE
This triathlon is known for its delightful summer atmosphere and, at the same time, its challenging, sporty character. The swim in the beautiful clear water, the cycling course around the lake, and concluding with a beautiful, largely unpaved running course through nature.

DTS OUDERKERK is organized at the Ouderkerkerplas, just south of Amsterdam.
The address is: Aan de Wind, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. There is a large parking lot near the start/finish where you can park for free. Do NOT park at Aan de Wind; that is the course!
With a pleasant sandy beach, a large grassy area, and the beautiful, quiet roads in the surrounding area, the Ouderkerkerplas is an ideal location for a beautiful triathlon. You swim in the 'large' lake and cycle and run around it. Currently, extensive work is being carried out on the A9, which may affect our cycling course. Therefore, there are two cycling course options, and we will only know shortly before the race whether or not we can cycle under the A9.
Olympic & Sprint distance
swimming
We swim in the “large” lake and start from the water (water start). This lake is nice and deep, so there is little to no chance of blue-green algae at very high temperatures. The Sprint swims one lap of 750 meters and the Olympic Distance swimmers swim two laps.
misuse
If we are able to use the viaducts due to A9 roadworks, we have a long 10km cycling loop, with the Sprint completing 2 laps and the OD 4 laps. We usually only know this shortly before the race. Should we be unable to cycle under the motorway, we will do the 5km loop around the lake: 4 times for the Sprint and 8 times for the OD.
To walk
You run along the partially unpaved walking path around the lake. The course can be described as technical, with lots of twists and turns. But it is a fabulously beautiful run with an idyllic, super-long jetty at the end that you run across to cross the lake. For the Olympic distance, you complete two of these laps.

For both the beginner and the more trained triathlete, DTS OUDERKERK is a unique experience!
The distances for the sprint and Olympic distance are as follows:
- Sprint triathlon: 750 m swimming, 20 km cycling, 5 km running
- Olympic distance triathlon: 1500 m swimming, 40 km cycling, 10 km running
You can pick up your race number on the day of the event at the registration desk at the Ouderkerkerplas.
You will receive a package with all the necessary supplies from us here.
The competition area is located at the sandy beach of the pleasant recreational area of the Ouderkerkerplas.
At this event site, you will find the registration tent, a food truck, the sponsors of DTS, and our own merchandise stand with plenty of triathlon gear. There are toilets, dogs are welcome on a leash, and it is a wheelchair-friendly site.
Bring as many supporters as you like. The event grounds are a wonderful place for them too, where they can cheer you on to their heart's content and enjoy the lovely summer atmosphere themselves.
Don't have a wetsuit? No problem!
Participants in DTS competitions can rent these. Order and pay during your registration.
Wetsuit Rental Price = €55. The wetsuit will be sent to your home address by Dare2Tri (not by us) approximately 10-14 days before the race. A return label is included so you can return the wetsuit yourself free of charge after the race. Wetsuits cannot be dropped off at DTS.
On Thursday before DTS OUDERKERK, we will carry out an initial measurement of the water temperature.
As soon as this is known, we will post it on our Facebook and Instagram. The rules for wearing a wetsuit:
- Temperature below 16 degrees: wetsuit mandatory
- Temperature between 16 and 23 degrees: wetsuit not mandatory, but permitted. Between 16 and 20 degrees, it is recommended to wear a wetsuit.
- Temperature above 23 degrees: wetsuit prohibited
It is possible to rent a wetsuit when registering. Already registered but still need a wetsuit? No problem! Up to 14 days before the start of the event, you can log in to your Mylaps environment and rent a wetsuit.
