Triathlon - transition clinics @ dts

Do you want to be even more confident at the start of a triathlon? DTS offers transition clinics for beginners who want to learn the basic techniques of a triathlon, to experienced athletes who want to improve those last few percent to an even faster time. The trainers at Training Tweaks have the knowledge and experience to make sure you are well prepared.

On this page you can read the most important information about the DTS transition clinics. These fun triathlon clinics are only available as an extra service for DTS participants. During registration for our competitions you will be given the option to choose 1 of the 4 clinic dates. Have you already registered for a race and would you still like to register for a clinic? Then use the link in your confirmation mail, click on 'edit registration' and add the clinic of your choice and pay for it.

DTS exchange clinic (€35: 2 hours)

During the DTS transition clinics, you and your trainer will go through the transitions from swimming to cycling and from cycling to running. You will practice various skills that will help you make a smooth transition. Are you curious about which skills these are?

  • Change in general
  • Putting on and taking off a wetsuit
  • Snelveters

On the Thursday before the competitions you will practice the technique of changing at the competition location. The physical effort remains low, so that you are fresh at the start of your triathlon.

Wouter Dijkshoorn

National coach of the NTB / Physiotherapist / Movement scientist / General Practitioner training teacher / Level 3 running & level 4 triathlon coach

In addition to my work at the GP training at the UMC Amsterdam, I have been active in triathlon sports since 2014. I guide athletes with individual coaching and group training. I am also involved in training trainers. For example, I have been giving clinics for DTS for several years and I am a trainer at the training group LABC.

I myself am increasingly active as an athlete in the cross discipline. In addition, I also do triathlons on the road with the team competition and at the DTS events. With a 1st place at the NK crosstriathlon 2023 (previously also in 2019 and unofficially in 2022) I can wear and defend the red-white-blue colors again next year.

From 2025 I will be the new National Coach of the NTB and I will coach the mixed relay team for the 2028 Olympic Games.

Morena StevenS

Physiotherapist / Movement scientist / Physiotherapy teacher / Level 3 running coach

In addition to my work at the physiotherapy program at the HvA, I have been active in triathlon sports since 2021. I guide athletes with individual coaching and group training. I have also been giving clinics for DTS since 2022 and I am a triathlon trainer at the De Dolfijn association in Amsterdam.

I am an athlete myself, active in team competition and the long distance appeals to me. With my debut on the long distance in 2023, I was immediately allowed to go to the famous Kona (Hawaii) for the Ironman World Championship. That was a wonderful experience! I enjoy both the short and long distances in the triathlon sport.

Marthe Heitbrink

Movement scientist / Lecturer UvA

Through Wouter I got infected with the triathlon virus and I enjoy the fast formats in the triathlon sport. I like the shorter the more. My greatest quality lies in the fast change in T1 and T2. If I'm lucky (and there is no need to run too long in the change zone) I can change faster than Wouter. I like to pass on these skills to other athletes. I do that during the triathlon training sessions of Training Tweaks and during the change clinics of DTS.
